Humble beginnings
Trevor Lane started making ladders in his shed for local builders, sourcing timber from the Forest of Dean.
1948
Humble beginnings
LFI was incorporated after demand grew

Factory Moved to Newent
LFI took over the site from Lancaster Saw Mills on Horesfair Lane
1980s
Leader in Pole Ladders
LFI acquired Gough Ladders and Hyde & Clements to secure dominant position manufacturing & supplying timber pole ladders
1990s
Development of Aluminium Products
With the aquisition of Chapman Alloy Products and heavy investment in new buildings and machinery, LFI started it’s journey into the manufacturing and supply of aluminium ladders and steps
2000s
Launch of TuFF : Steel
LFI develop and launch a precision engineered steel ladder for heavy duty use within scaffolding
